NATALIE THOMSON CO-FOUNDER, CEO Business Manager, Rescuer I’ve always had a passion for animals and wildlife ever since I can remember. I started volunteering with Carla in 2012 when she was a carer, and I fell in love! There is something truely magical about caring for an animal, seeing them grow strong and healthy and being able to release them back to the wild. It wasn’t long before I realised it wasn’t just the wildlife that needed help, there was a whole community that would benefit. By starting our own non-for-profit shelter our aim was to provide more support for shelters and carers who receive little to no government funding, help educate the public on our wildlife and wildlife care, provide volunteer opportunities for students passionate about conservation and to simply inspire others to fall in love with our Australian native animals.

LISA RADFORD DOMESTIC BIRD RESCUE Wildlife Rescuer I moved to Australia in January of 2013. I was born in NC, USA. I have a Bachelors of Arts in Psychology and a degree in Elementary Education. I started volunteering at Warriors 4 Wildlife in 2017. The longer I volunteered, the more I wanted to do. I fell in love with rescuing and was amazed that I had this wonderful opportunity to work with Australian wildlife everyday. I found that we were getting lots of calls for the rescue of lost, abandoned, surrendered or neglected domestic birds. I have always had a passion for birds and had a beautiful Lorikeet and 2 Cockatiels of my own, so I asked to head up a domestic bird’s department. My degree in psychology and work in behavior therapy made training birds come natural for me. Through intense training and a few heart breaking stories, I ended up adopting a few more of my own! You can follow my day to day life running a bird rescue on Instagram @kiwi_the_lorikeet. And, I also post rescue birds on @w4w_pet_bird_rescues.
